"I probably discovered post-punk bands like Husker Du and later got around to listening to punk. But as Iggy Pop once said, it's all disco. It's all animal, all beating on drums, it's all getting up there and making a racket in front of a bunch of people. It's all beat."
(Frank Black - The Washington Post.)

Gavin Bachner
Gigographer & Occasional "Some Guy"

Visit website

Gavin Bachner has, over the years, cobbled together the finest Frank Black gigography avaiable anywhere. He lives in San Diego, California, and recently convocated from SDSU.

Gavin loves music, obviously, and like most Frank fans, he writes/plays a lot of songs himself. If you're in the San Diego area, you might hear the faint sounds of Neutral Milk Hotel and Rilo Kelly emanating from Gavin's hidden loft somewhere distant. Or maybe Dig, Rocket From The Crypt, Hum, Weezer, Jane's Addiction, Mercury Rev, Toadies, Radiohead, Paw, John Coltrane, Beatles, Bowie, Flaming Lips, John Frusciante, The Smiths, Pavement, Three Mile Pilot, Tom Waits, or Smashing Pumpkins.

His TV watching habits include the Simpsons, Letterman, The Daily Show, Padres baseball, MST3K, Strangers With Candy, Family Guy, Home Movies, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force. His favorite movies include The Goonies, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Flight of the Navigator, Harold & Maude, Stand By Me, the Indiana Jones trilogy, and the original Star Wars trilogy. As for video games, he's a retro kid, listing Bionic Commando (NES), Maniac Mansion (NES), Super Metroid (SNES), and Sonic 3 & Knuckles (Genesis) as favorites.
