Bee Dance
It has long been known that honeybees perform dances on their return to the hive, known as round dance and waggle dance. The nectar-laden bee dances on the comb in a circular pattern, occasionally crossing the circle in a zig-zag or waggle pattern.
In 1947, Karl von Frisch correlated the runs and turns of the dance to the distance and direction of the food source from the hive. The orientation of the dance correlates to the relative position of the sun. There is no evidence that this form of communication depends on individual learning.
Von Frisch performed a series of experiments to validate his theory. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1973 for his discoveries.

"ZZZZZ" is an episode of the original The Outer Limits television show. It first aired on 27 January 1964, during the first season.
A transformation of the most stunning kind takes place as this episode opens, a huge queen bee is seemingly transmuted into a human female.

"It's not clear in the lyric, but the mating reference is really about humans. i over simplified the lyrics in my comment that "it was about bees"; maybe more about human to bee transitioning...transforming...see THE OUTER LIMITS.

Can you explain the mystery of the title track's lyrics?

SKRATCH: On "Honeycomb" you sing that God's army is coming down to get you. That's pretty scary. That's all I have to say about that. It's a good song, but…aaahhhh. Is there a specific reason you put that in there?
FRANK: "I suppose, [but] I don't know why. I guess I was talking about religion. But it's okay—you don't have to be frightened; it's just a song. Yeah, that's a very strange song about memories from my…I guess it would be memories of my childhood."
